DECA
We’re excited for another great year! Meetings will start up in October!
DRAMA
The cast and crew have been working lines, building character, and building a set for this year's one-act competition play. This year, cast and crew are presenting a modern-day take on The Canterbury Tales called "Southfield Stories." Their first competition (closed to the public) will be next Wednesday, where they will receive valuable feedback from judges. From there they will move on to district competition, held in Drummond on Thursday, October 17. They look forward to their free public performance at The Night of One Acts held here in Maple on Thursday, November 21.
FCA
Welcome to a new season of FCA. Everyone is welcome and you do not have to be an athlete. Our leaders for this year are Addison Hanson, Ashlyn Sutherland, Payton Orme, Reagan Eberhardt and Morgan Martens. We meet every Friday morning at 7:30 am in Room 3058. This is a student led organization. Field of Faith will be held on Wed., Oct. 23 at Denfeld High School. We will leave NHS at 5:54. Mr. Dan Schafter is driving our bus! We will stop at Kwik Trip for a quick dinner and be home by 9:00 pm. WE are looking forward to a great evening with other Huddle groups in our area! Thank you to Mission Covenant Church for paying for our bus!
FCCLA
FCCLA members have been hard at work making reusable hand warmers to be sold at the Homecoming game. They plan to sell warmers for $4.00 a set. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of FCCLA blazers to be worn in competitions. In October our officers and four members will be attending the Fall Leadership conference at UW Stout.
NES Mentors
Thank you to the 30 NHS students who are considering a commitment to the NES Mentor program. We had our first meeting with Mrs. Hietala and Mr. Smith. We have a great group looking to making a difference in the life of an NES student. We will have one more meeting on Oct. 10 for those who were unable to attend the first meeting. We hope to have you matched with an NES student by the middle of October. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Vik in Room 3055.
SADD
We have two groups of students that are interested in doing Trunk or Treat in Poplar and Maple. Thank you to Mr. Hessel for making us a great sign for that event! We also are hoping to partner with the FACT group for some events that help our students make good choices. Stay tuned for further updates!
