STUDENT DROP OFF
Students may be dropped off at the front doors of both IRES and NES. During drop off, parents who are in need of entering the building must park only in designated parking spots. If you are dropping your child off, please use the drop off area and support your child as they exit your vehicle.
NES parents may begin dropping off students at 7:50 a.m. and students will be able to enter the classroom hallways at 7:50 a.m. with classes beginning at 8:05 a.m. IRES parents may begin dropping students off at 7:50 a.m. for breakfast with classes beginning at 8:05 a.m. Students may get breakfast at this time.
PICK UP DURING SCHOOL HOURS
Parents who wish to take their child out of school during school hours, prior to 2:50 p.m., are to park in the main parking lot and enter the office. Students will not be called to the office until the parent(s) have arrived to sign them out.
PICK UP AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY
Student end of the day pick up will occur with a set schedule or a call into the main office prior to 2:00 p.m. indicating a change. Daily routines are very important to student safety. Parents are asked to have an established routine for where your child will go at the end of the day. A pickup list will be kept by our office and shared with classroom teachers and grade level teams to direct students at the end of each school day. If parents wish to modify or change a day's routine they must let the building office staff know prior to 2:00 p.m. to arrange for their child's pickup or change in bussing drop off.
NES PICK UP LOCATION
After 2:50 p.m., all parents must park in the west parking lot. At 3:15 p.m., students scheduled to be picked up will exit the west doors. NES staff will supervise as students exit the building through doors F and G to their parent/guardian. Buses will block the north driveway at 3:05 p.m. as they line up to board students riding buses home. This driveway is closed to all traffic except buses during school hours.
Children may not be unsupervised at the end of the day. Your child will have to board the bus if the parent is not at school when it is time for the buses to leave or they will be taken to Tigers Den daycare at parents expense. At NES the child may attend Tigers Den daycare at the parents request.
ATTENDANCE & RECESS GUIDELINES
All children in attendance must be healthy enough to participate in all indoor and outdoor activities scheduled for the day, including adaptive activities for children with disabilities. If you are concerned about your child’s health and going outside, the general rule of thumb is that if you feel your child is too sick to go outdoors, the child is too sick to be in the classroom as well. Children benefit by enjoying the outdoors. This enables them to breathe clean, fresh air, which is important to their health.
Recess and noon hour breaks are taken outdoors unless it is raining or extremely cold, so be sure your child is dressed for the weather conditions. Students are not allowed back in the school building until the bell rings or the whistle is blown. It is also a good idea to keep an extra sweater at school. Please put your child’s name and grade on all clothing he/she may remove during the day.
