Band

The NHS Pep Band has played at a few football games and are now focused on their performance at the Bayfield Apple Festival Parade on Sunday, October 5.  Following that performance they will turn their attention to their 2025 Homecoming performance on Friday, October 10.  After that, they stay indoors and start preparing for for the NHS Fall Concert on Monday, October 27.

DECA

DECA had their first meeting this month!  Looking forward to a great year!

Drama

Drama is busy rehearsing, costuming, and building for two one-act plays this year. "Small Actors," a comedy/drama detailing the effects of lying to your parents, will be this year's piece for the state one-act competition. District competition (unfortunately not open to the public) will be held at Northwestern on Thursday, October 23.

"Apostrophe's," a farcical look at punctuation and its relation to relationships is the team's other selection. Both will be the showcase of this year's Night of One Acts, a free public performance on Tuesday, November 18.

FCA

The NHS Huddle of FCA meets every Friday morning at 7:35 a.m. in Room 3058.  Reagan Eberhardt, Payton Orme, Sophie Navarro, Jael Lintula and Ailie Clemmer are leading the Huddle.  We are making plans to attend the Field of Faith event in Hayward on Oct. 22.  Special thanks to Mr. Coleman who recently led our team through DBS (Discovery Bible Study) in hopes of  making our Friday mornings more challenging!  All are welcome!  Please see the above students if you have questions.

FFA

FFA had its first meeting of the year and the student officer team set goals for the year. Three student officers traveled to Bloomer High School to participate in the Fall Leadership workshop where they learned about their respective officer positions and met with their state officer counterparts. Fundraising has begun with FFA members once again planning, coordinating, and staffing the football concessions stand for all home varsity games.

SADD/FACT

We are presently partnering with Douglas County Drug Prevention Coalition and Sara White to help with an event on Oct. 1.  NHS is hosting a Vaping Awareness Night in our auditorium.  Please stop in.  It is during Parent/Teacher Conferences from 6:30-7:30.  We have two SADD/FACT members who are on the state board for FACT and they will be part of the panel that evening.  Also, we are hoping to do two Trunk or Treat events on Oct. 31.

Student Council

The Student Council started the year off by hosting the Clubs and Organizations Preview to showcase the 30+ opportunities we have for students to get involved.  Then, members gathered to start planning our Homecoming Tailgate Party!  This year we are excited to announce that we will host a Car & Truck Show, have food trucks available, a cornhole tournament, snacks, music, and fun from 4:00-6:30 pm before the Varsity football game.  Dress-up days are also being planned to add to the festivities!
